LGS is a new type of mid-infrared nonlinear crystal. LiGaS2 has excellent properties such as wide band gap, low two-photon absorption, wide transparent range, small group velocity mismatch, high thermal conductivity, and low thermal expansion coefficient. Its UV cutoff wavelength of about 320nm allows LGS to be pumped by visible light and all solid-state near-infrared lasers for frequency conversion. Using different nonlinear frequency conversion, the output range of mid-infrared laser sources based on LiGaS2 crystals has been continuously expanded, and the currently achievable tuning output range covers 3.0~11.5um.
